Last month, we successfully launched the mainnet to mark the beginning of the AI Network ecosystem! After launching, the team focused on the stability of the mainnet and monitored it constantly. We observed various metrics, such as delayed block generation, stable CPU or memory values, and whether the transaction pool was not full, and confirmed that it was operating stably. The current block number has surpassed 100,000 and we will continue to observe and respond to any abnormality.

After the mainnet launch, we planned to do a few updates. However, we had to introduce a “Timer Flag” feature because, currently, there are cases where blocks need to be created from scratch in order to update. Timer Flag is a feature that allows each node to activate a new feature from a specific block number. This allows blockchain nodes to apply new functions without interrupting block creation by activating new functions from a specific point in time.

In addition, in this process, there are cases where it is necessary to change the database value before patching, so the bandage function that works with the Timer Flag was added in order to make it possible to modify the database value. In the actual mainnet (based on 44,600 blocks) 5 new updates using Timer Flag were applied stably.

We also habilitated ain-js clients, so they can listen for events through a WebSocket connection with the blockchain. At the moment, it has been implemented to receive and view events about ‘block confirmation’, and ‘database value change and transaction state change’, which are under development. After the implementation of these two events then it is finalized and tested, and after that, we will proceed with the official launch.

We will start recruiting validators soon. We are currently discussing our validator policy, and we are working on documentation related to it. The validator application method will be revealed soon, so please stay tuned for more.

What’s new on Teachable-NLP?

KoGPT model published by Kakao has been added to Teachable-NLP. KoGPT is a GPT-based Korean large language model with about 6 billion parameters. Various models and tasks will be added to Teachable-NLP in the future, so please stay tuned!
